30 day room challenge

Buying a house, moving and unpacking/organizing is a lot of work. So decorating has been kind of put on the back burner for a while. It can be daunting to fully decorate a room. Sometimes we get overwhelmed, so when I saw Thrift Diving’s challenge to complete a room in 30 days, I thought "what the heck, it’s worth a shot!" It will help me get motivated to complete a whole room. So I encourage you to go over and sign up as well.
The room I decided on is my living room. I have some before pictures from the previous owners that I got off of Redfin, as I am notorious for forgetting to take before pictures.

As you can see, this room had lots of potential. Its open but still separated from the dining room. I plan on decorating it in a fun style I call "vintage glam coastal." "What the heck is that?" you ask. Well, you will have to wait until the end of June to see!

I plan on painting the walls, doing something fun to the bookcase, redoing a couch and painting a few furniture items. I also have to get curtains, artwork and replace those hideous modern sconces on the wall.  The floors need to be redone, but that’s a major project for a later date. For now I will just add some rugs.

So join me in the challenge! Click on her blog Thrift Diving to get more information. We will have some fun, get inspired and support one another along the way!
