Seeing stripes with ScotchBlue

I love stripes, in fabric, on furniture and clothes. I like to use them a lot in décor. They can be a pain to do, but I have a sure fire way to paint stripes with little work! So when ScotchBlue emailed me about their "Home of the ScotchBlue Contest" using their awesome tape, I thought this would be the perfect chance to show you how

The first step is to go out and buy some ScotchBlue tape. They have varying widths, so just pick one that is the width you want your stripes

The next step is to paint a base coat that you want, I used Van Gogh's Serenity

Start from one side and put a strip of ScotchBlue tape, then, right next to it put another

Put a third row, then take out the middle row, and reuse it next to the third row

The next step is to just alternate, removing every other row of tape

Then I painted it with Modern Masters metallic paint. Just like stripes, I have a thing for metallics!

You may have a tiny bit of touch up to do, but for the most part it is FOOL PROOF! And depending on what kind of paint you use, this project is very budget friendly. It's a great way to spruce up something you may already have

  1. Wow! I love the metallic gold paint and it's such a cool idea for storing anything from kids toys, craft supplies, or any household item.
